The cleaning method of bath heaters

bathroom

Introduction

I’ve shown the way of cleaning drum of washing machines the last time, and this time, I’ll show you the bath heater version of that.

If you leave the bath heater without cleaning, not only germs but also things such as hair will pill up on it, and clogging up will be caused by its pilling up and it will lead to the cause of the malfunction of the water heater in the worst case, so you might want to clean the bath heater once every three months along with cleaning the drum of washing machine.

Also in the case of cleaning the bath heater, soaking in hot water with cleaner is the same way as the last time, but you have to remove the adapter of the bath heater, otherwise large things like hair would not come out from it, so I’ll show you how to take apart the adapter mainly.
(Please rest assured it’s such a simple way.)

Materials you will need

cleaner and plier

Materials you will need are just these two:

This is totally my kind of cleaner and these days I only use this for cleaning the drum of washing machine as well.

Are you ready?

Get started

step 1

adapter-cover

Turn this cover to the left and remove it by pulling.

step 2

This is called ‘adapter’ and it may be hard to see in this photo, but there is something like a bump here, so hold this bump and pull it with the plier I showed earlier.

step 3

As a result, the adapter will be unlocked and be able to be removed by turning to the left and pulling.

soak utensils that you use in the bathroom

Here is a tip for you.
Put stuff such as the bath stool, the shower head, the hose, etc. that you usually use in the bathroom in the tub.

how shower head remove

Most shower heads just screw onto the threaded end of the shower hose, so if you turn the head counterclockwise, it can be removed easily.

step 4

Put some detergent in the bathtub and fill it with hot water.
The quantity of hot water is enough if the circulation hole is filled.

quantity of hot water

step 5

Reheat the bath water for a couple of times and leave it for half a day, and then drain the water and fill the tub with hot water again and reheat (to remove the detergent) and drain it once more.

step 6

After draining it, wash the tub and soaked utensils, and put the adapter and cover back into place. That’s all.

Conclusion

I clean it frequently, so it’s not that dirty, but people who have a big family or do it for the first time might be surprised by the filth on the bath heater the moment you remove the adapter.

When I went over to a house to replace its water heater before, the bath adapter had been clogged by hair and sludge.

When you can get rid of sludge like this, you will probably feel great as though your constipation were relieved. lol

Note: As for this part, there are some kinds (fixed with screws, etc.), but no manufacturers recommend that users remove the part by themselves, so you should have it done by professionals if you aren’t sure how to do it.
Please do it at your own risk.
