There’s something I always keep in mind at work
I have my favorite motto.
It’s “Taizenjijaku” in Japanese and the four-character compound word means having presence of mind whatever happens.
I came across this idiom in the four-character compound word comic dictionary, and what impressed me the most was an illustration of a monk standing under a waterfall.
There’s a Japanese saying “Seitewa kotowo shisonjiru” (Haste makes waste.), and I am always impressed by the person who came up with this idea first.
By the way, without exception, I often make a mess when I am in a hurry, probably because I am poor at doing well under pressure in the first place.
If I failed in a hurry, I would have to start over again and it would also take as twice as much time and labor.
If I got hurt in a fluster, I might not be able to work and it would possibly caused clients and people concerned trouble as well.
However, while working, I think there are a lot of situations that we have no choice but to hurry as we are pressed for time.
In such case, I once take a deep breath and try to say this phrase in my mind.
This is by no means to do my work sluggishly or in my own way, but it means dealing with things slowly but steadily.
By doing things in my own way like this, I feel like I don’t get hurt or fail while working.

See you then.
