Life in the countryside is far from easy
Table of contents
Firstly
I think a self-sufficient life is ideal for humans, but we have lots of hard things physically when working in the countryside, and I wonder if I could do physical labor like this when I get old, and I’m always overwhelmed with the difference between the ideal and the real.
I think there are many difficult things, but among them, the most difficult thing might be the management of the land.
There are lots of things to do such as pruning garden trees and cutting grass if you have extensive fields, and in summer, even if you cut grass, the grass will grow quickly in a few days, so there is no end.
I feel like watching TV dramas lying on the sofa in an air-conditioned room all day long (This is my ideal. lol),
but I’m asked to do cut grass and trees, so I decided to do so.
I’m going to briefly show you how I cut trees this time, but I use electric tools because I don’t have enough energy or time to cut down trees with just a handsaw, and I’m also going to introduce some tools in here as well.
The tools I’m going to use
These are tools I’m going to use.
The pruning shears are electric and it may be hard to see in this photo, but the yellow spray can is insecticide for wasps or horseflies.
I get attacked by them because I often wear black, so I feel safe with this bug spray.
What you should pay particular attention to when you cut trees is your step.
These are boots that have steel in the toe, and you could avoid serious injuries even when something happens to fall down on your foot.
These are the electric pruning shears in the photo above.
Even people without power can cut branches easily and fast because these shears have enough power to cut thick branches without difficulty.
This tool sounds like “RoboCop” when its blades move, so it is fun.
I’ll try cutting branches with that.
I don’t know what plant this is, but I could get that done like this in a moment.
This is a chainsaw that I’m going to use this time, which I always use, actually.
Gasoline-powered saws are easier to handle than electric ones because they don’t come with cables, but this electric-powered chainsaw has as much power as gasoline-powered ones, and the biggest benefit of electric-powered ones is quieter than gasoline-powered ones.
A tree I’m going to cut down
Now, this is a tree I’m going to cut down this time.
Actually, I cut down this tree at the base many years ago, but this has grown a lot like this.
It’s easy if you just cut this down, but there is an electric cable passing through the tree (the part marked with a red arrow), and I have a bad experience that this cable got caught on the branches and cut when I cut it down the last time, so I have to cut the tree carefully.
Get started
1st
Cut the branches that wouldn’t be caught on the cable.
2nd
After cutting down the branches, cut them up into small pieces so that it would be easier to load them onto a truck.
3rd
It was a hassle from here.
I had to cut upper branches after climbing the tree like a monkey so that the cable wouldn’t get cut.
Of course, I couldn’t use my both hands, so I ended up cutting them one by one with a handsaw.
4th
Once I cut the branches that are likely to be interfered, the only thing left for me to do is just cut a thick branch.
It will go well if you cut a slit on the side that you want to cut down, and cut from the other side.
The fallen tree hit right on the house, but it couldn’t be helped because I could cut it down only in that direction.
Lastly
Cherry trees are not supposed to be cut, but I decided to cut it down because of the problems of scenery and the electric cable.
